Darien Robertson is an editorial and portrait photographer with roots in Jamaica’s vibrant arts scene. Raised in a family of visual and performance artists, he developed a keen eye for storytelling through imagery, later refining his craft by studying communication arts and technology.

As a freelance photographer, photojournalist, and photography instructor at the Caribbean’s largest art college, he became proficient at blending dynamic portraiture with compelling narratives, essential for capturing the energy and authenticity of Caribbean life.

His work spans lifestyle, editorial, and corporate photography, with clients including WestJet, the TRUMPF Group, and Lonely Planet. Darien’s ability to create engaging, authentic visuals ensures memorable experiences for both clients and collaborators.

Darien Robertson is a Japan-based editorial and portrait photographer. Raised in Jamaica by a family of visual and performance artists, he took inspiration from this environment and studied communication arts and technology to better understand his passion for art.

During his tenure in Jamaica as a freelancer, a photojournalist, and teaching photography at the largest art college in the English-speaking Caribbean, he honed his artistic eye in order to combine visual storytelling with dynamic portraiture. This narrative-driven approach drives his connection with his work, clients and collaborators, and it has continued to serve him well since he arrived in Japan in 2018.
