    Ed Cunicelli

Philadelphia - NYC - Washington DC

For over 30 years, Ed Cunicelli is been based in the Greater Philadelphia area, working comfortably both on location and in studio settings. Whether it’s a one-on-one portrait or a large-scale production, Ed brings enthusiasm and experience to every shoot. He loves the collaborative nature of commercial and editorial photography and has been fortunate to work with many talented designers, art directors and editors — all of whom have helped shape his craft.

"Portrait photography is about visual storytelling. Learning about the person — who they are, what matters to them, their environment — is central to my approach. I see photography as a conversation, both with and about the subject.

I’ve long been drawn to the work of Andrew Wyeth. A childhood book featuring Wind from the Sea left a lasting impression with its muted tones and haunting sense of longing. Photographing the Wyeth family and visiting their studios has been a profound experience."

A long-term project has involved working with Indigenous communities across the North and Southwest — work that has deeply enriched Ed's life. He is committed, collaborative and focused — and would welcome the chance to work with you.

"Photography is a visual storytelling medium, so learning about subjects —who they are, what’s important to them, their surroundings is an important part of my practice. I believe that photographing someone is a way of communicating with them and about them.

I am relatable, responsive, and accessible, but also relentless in my pursuit of the right shot. I produce images that are rich, creative, complex and genuine and I’m always focused on my clients’ goals.

I would welcome an opportunity to work with you."
